I have a connective tissue autoammune disorder. I was diagoned like, a year ago but I'd already been struggling with the symtoms for a while.

Right now though, I am doing really well and I havent gotten too sick in a while!

I have epilepsy, too. I'm a writer and I saw you on K.L.'s forum. My first two novels have a main character who has seizures like mine.

I'm also seizure free now, too. My seizures were triggered by caffeine and a chemical additive, so I feel incredibly lucky that doctors were able to figure that out.

I think your site is great Sara Elizabeth.
Thanks for making it.

Hi Sara-Elizabeth,
I have epilepsy, too.
I loved your commercial. it really means something to me. People with epilepsy can do anything that people without epilepsy can do. Your commercial reminded me of that.
I am taking medicine to prevent the seizures. i might get off the medicine this summer!
My family and hopefully some friends and I are going to participate in your walk this
May 3rd. See you there!

Jenny,

I would love for you to join the walk on May 3rd. I am also going to Washington at the end of March for the National walk. It took almost six months for me to be slowly taken off my meds. I was lucky it worked on the first time for me. Remember that is not always the case! Take your time and listen to the doctors!

Sara

PS how did you here about me and the walk?

Hey Sara

It's your favourite honorary Uncle in the UK! As you know I'm a pharmacist and I thought that I'd pass on a problem that I encountered the other day. I'm putting it on here because I want everyone who is on medication for epilepsy to make sure that they check with their doctor AND pharmacist before taking any new medicines.

At my hospital pharmacy we always ask patients what other medicines they are taking to ensure there are no interactions. My patient was a penicillin allergic patient with a chest infection. Unable to prescribe penicillin, the doctor prescribed clarithromycin BUT the patient was on carbamazepine, the levels of which are raised with when taken with clarithromycin or erythromycin. All the drug groups that could have been used for the chest infection had some risk in this patient.

Bet you never expected to see me writing on your blog!

Uncle David,

You are so right it is very important that your doctors know what medication you are on because medications do not always interact well togeather!!!

Thank you,

Sara

Hey Kid,

Don Imus has been plugging your event on WABC radio. He asked his comedian Tony Powell to look around your site and he said there was no way for anyone with a credit card to donate to your cause. Imus is now thinking on this...so you may hear from the old man any time now.
